Creating Constructive Culture

The Power of Constructive Feedback

One of the most powerful things you can do for your team and your company is creating a culture of welcoming growth and constructive feedback. Let us work with you to help facilitate the process!

Creating Constructive Culture

Creating a Corporate Culture of growth and embracing feedback can be one of the most valuable things you do with your team. After all, without feedback, we stagnate.

The highest paid people in the world are all in the business of being “consultants,” of giving advice.  And what is advice?  It’s feedback. This is the only path to growth.

At the peak of their careers, Jack Nicklaus had a golf coach, and Michael Jordan had a basketball coach. The highest paid CEOs in the world all have advisors. Try singing to a song with your ears plugged… Feedback is what keeps us in tune, functioning at peak efficiency and harmony.

What many companies lose sight of is the fact that they have entire teams filled with intelligent people with great ideas, who don’t have the tools or infrastructure to make use of that strength.

The fastest way to growth, the quickest route to preventing conflict, and short-cut to problem-solving is simply feedback.

But feedback can be hard to take… And even harder to give. The fear of offending someone, or making a touchy situation worse leads many to avoid giving valuable feedback that could make a huge tangible difference to your team dynamics and your bottom line.

The reality is that feedback isn’t hard, IF you have the right tools and framework to create a culture of welcoming it. There’s an art, a technique if you will, to giving feedback in a way that it can be heard and even welcomed by the recipient.  And there’s a process for creating a company culture that welcomes and embraces this concept.

Without the right processes and tools for giving productive feedback, one of two things happen: feedback simply isn’t offered or requested, or even worse, feedback is given and taken in a way that makes it a source of conflict and tension.

With our Creating Constructive Culture program, your team is shown the value of feedback. They are then lead through fun, engaging and educational exercises that require them to practice both giving and receiving feedback.

This training includes:

  • Why Creating a Constructive Culture in your Company is important!
  • What Feedback Is and How It Integrates With Your Corporate Culture
  • The psychology of growth and development.
  • Transformational Communication Techniques
  • The difference between productive feedback and non-productive feedback (complaining or criticizing)
  • Techniques for giving feedback without resistance or conflict
  • Techniques for receiving feedback without ego or pre-judgment
  • Systems for feedback for individuals, teams and organizations
  • Fun activities that provide memorable practice of these concepts

Expecting to improve your individuals, teams or organization without effective feedback is a lot like painting with a blindfold on… Remove the blindfold from your team and increase their productivity and growth today!

We can work with you to customize this training, it’s messaging, and it’s emphasis in ways that mesh with your own company or team goals and messaging.  This is a fun and engaging program by itself, but also pairs very well with our Communication Training as well as our Principles of Execution training.

We also highly recommend doing a half-day skill development training like the Transformational Feedback program, and following it in the afternoon with one of our fun, memorable and bonding team building activities!  This gives your team the opportunity to both practice the skills we worked on earlier in the day, as well as have a fun and rewarding opportunity to bond with each other.

I was skeptical that this would be just another "Covey Corporate Training" and be repetitive and only take one or two things away or reinforce past learnings. Well I am happy to say this was much more and was one of the most refreshing and best 4 hours spent during our 4 day meetings in Miami. To be honest, this would have been only better if we had more time. I have many take aways and Den more than delivered. I would recommend Den to any organization and look forward to working with him on future events.

We had a great day with the event with Den! Everything was perfectly organized, and Den is a great person to work with. The group enjoyed the event and learned a lot from them. Thanks for your support and coordination!
